I find it amusing that when people can not understand something they have a need to stop talking about the topic. Trying to make a joke out of it instead of sitting there and trying to understand what is going on. Why? Why do people do this? Is it because humans can not cope with the fact that we don't know everything? Or is it just the fact we can't cope with the fact that we don't understand?
I find it irritating when people can not listen and I find that I do not understand why they stop talking about the subject, why can't they sit there and think about about is being said? WHY!? That is really the only way that you understand the world around you, to listen to people who know or understand things you don't and try to understand where they're coming from... but no, people don't. I find artist do this too. Art history class this morning was a grand example to me. A friend of mine was bringing up a point saying that raw material is sometimes worth more then the finished product. I start to talk about smelting gold and I get interrupted by the class laughing and not understanding the point. The point was that when you smelt gold, it loses value because you're adding things, now... if they had let me finish they may have understood what my friend was talking about. That the reason (about an article we read) why women are mostly painted nude is because nature is raw and culture is not. Woman are apparently closer to Nature and men are seen as culture (back in the day remember this is art HISTPORY). So... whos to say they wouldn't have understood that if they let her finish?
But they may not have all well... but now we'll never know, because they chose not to listen.
